Legislative Leadership Academy Helps Massachusetts Members Build Political Savvy and Mobilization Skills
1199SEIU in Massachusetts is holding a series of workshops to train up and coming member-leaders on the ins and outs of the political process.
The legislative leadership academy (LLA) will be held during late February and early March for union members across the state. The intensive workshop will examine politics in Massachusetts and give participants a firm understanding of how politics and legislation affect us as healthcare, homecare and nursing home workers.
“I thought it was inspiring,” said Gladelina Maldonado, a union member at Boston Medical Center who attended the first LLA session at the union hall in Dorchester, MA. “My favorite part of the workshop was the time we got to interact with each other.”
At the end of the process, more than 100 union members will have been trained through the academy.
